So in my last shopping trip with my best friend (who quite possibly deserves a backstory of her own in a post someday), I covered a few things on my list of goals.

#30. Get a pair of nice shoes.
#54. Find eye shadow colors that work for me and how to make it look good.

#75. Buy real bras that fit me.

Well number thirty can be proven here, with pictures of my adorable white wedge heels:

Fifty-four and sevety-five you’ll just have to take my word on. I don’t (and won’t) have picture proof on those most likely. Haha. But I did find some lovely brown/coppery/gold eye shadows to contrast my blue/grey eyes. I can’t quite say I’m at the point of practice where it looks awesome, but I’m just going to say that comes with some time and check this off anyways. And then of course, I found a few cute bras that I love! Defeinitely gonna need to do bra shopping again, just cuz it’s so fun!!

Baby Avocado

#7. Plant some potted flowers and keep them alive.

So it’s not flowers, but it’s an avocado plant. I’ve decided to adopt it from my mother and help it grow in my room. I remember having another avocado plant when I was about 7, so it’s not that hard to keep alive, but it’s pretty fragile right now. I’ll keep track of it’s progress through the summer with more photos as it grows. But this is all I have for now.

Photo is also one of my 365 Days flickr project for today.

#73. Look into doing a semester abroad in England.

Posted: February 19th, 2009 | Author: Ellen | Filed under: 101 in 1001, Life | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , | 1 Comment »

Lately I’ve been looking at my university’s study abroad program, looking at my possibilities of traveling to England for a time. It’s looking very likely for summer 2010. With the requirements I have to fulfill for my university, I have to take a liberal arts “theme” course. If you’re doing your theme at the university, there are I think fifteen themes to choose from, and you have to pick from three of the 5-12 given courses you are allowed to take within that to fulfill it. (You following? Yeah, it is confusing.) Although, if you choose to study abroad, you can create your own theme and complete it at your desired location!

So, of course I don’t like any of the fifteen themes provided here so I’ve made up my “perfect” theme for a summer study abroad in England; Creative Writing and British/European History. My class options include, Creative Writing, Poetry, Shakespearian Literature, and European History from 1848-1914. I might add a Philosophy course or another history course as options, but in the end I will choose/be assigned three courses to take.

I’m excited for this opportunity, but it’s a little far off. Sometime next year, I’ll really look into it and start applying. But I’ve found out what information I needed now and this is the first thing completed on list of 101 Things to Do in 1001 Days. :) Yay me.
